I love how crazy the Japanese video game industry can be when it wants to. Granted they may not be as able to pull off a cinematic, Hollwood-blockbuster of a game as the West has been in recent memory (though opinions may vary), but if you want something as left-field as an imagination can possibly take you, then there’s no better place for aspiring game fans to look to than the Land of the Rising Sun.
Case in point? Virtual lawyering. Although the entire Phoenix Wright series has largely gone over my head, this may not be the case for too much longer, as Capcom has seen fit to put its flagship portable adventure(?) series onto the mobile phone platform, with Ace Attorney 1,2, and 3 getting a graphical overhaul and release on the iOS and Android, as reported by Andriasang. Good news too for those already waist-deep into objections, as it’s also been announced that Ace Attorney 5: Lawyer Harder (my subtitle) is in development, though no release date has been mentioned.
Important caveat however for all this good news; these have all only been officially announced for the Japanese market, and although it would be crazy for Capcom not to bring this to Europe and North America, it isn’t as if they haven’t done some questionable things in the past.
