At this point, it’s fairly known that the mobile gaming industry’s bigger than ever. Full studios are built around the cellular devices, and there’s more time and money put into it than ever before. Today, it’s grown a few more inches by adding the mighty name of Max Payne to the platform.
Rockstar Games has announced that the original Max Payne, Remedy Entertainment’s famous bullet-time shooter, will have an HD re-release for (currently unspecified) mobile devices. The game is planned to have a fairly customizable control scheme, as well as compatibility with the Rockstar Games Social Club, currently only compatiable with PSN, Xbox Live, and Windows Live accounts.
It’s a pretty massive game for the mobile platform, and could easily make for a pretty good remake if Rockstar doesn’t change the content too much (as we usually see with many mobile versions of major franchises). The mobile HD Max Payne will be coming sometime this fall, two seasons before the console/PC release of Max Payne 3.
